Pastor Gibson is God’s visionary for Life Church Of God In Christ, located in Riverside, CA.  His consistent obedience to God has taken the Life congregation from glory to glory. The membership has grown from 9 in 1987 to 4,500 and growing. During these years, Pastor Gibson’s uncompromising and bold teaching of God’s Word has changed the lives of people both at Life and around the world.

To accommodate the tremendous growth of church membership, several building expansion plans have been realized under the direction of Pastor Gibson. From the 150-seat chapel in 1987, he built a 700-seat sanctuary in 1993; added classroom trailer facilities; purchased a 10-bedroom house for ministry outreach expansion, and most recently in 2002, acquired 23 additional acres of land for future ministry developments.

Educationally, Pastor Gibson has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Southern California College (S.C.C.) in Costa Mesa, CA.  In 2003, an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree was conferred upon Pastor Gibson from Saint Thomas Christian College in Jacksonville, Florida.

Pastor Gibson has been happily married to the lovely LaVette D. Gibson since 1981. The couple celebrated their 25th anniversary in December 2006 and continue to enjoy life as husband and wife.

He has served the ministry on local and national levels. He is the Founder & President of the Annual Koinonia Conference, Founder & CEO of the Life Net Community Development Corporation, and Founder & CEO of Life Christian Academy – Life’s school of excellence.

Pastor Gibson also serves the Churches Of God In Christ, Inc., in the following capacities: one of the Administrative Assistant’s to the Jurisdictional Prelate of Southern California Jurisdiction One, member of the National Constitutional Commission Committee, and Vice-Chairman of the General Pastors & Elder’s Council.

Pastor Gibson has conducted soul-stirring revivals and crusades throughout Southern California, the United States, and abroad.   Many are blessed through various conferences hosted by Pastor Gibson, and generations are changed because of his passion and devotion to Christ. Through his ministry, people are discovering their destiny and purpose.

He has impacted the lives of millions and influenced the spiritual growth of Christians as well through our television ministry “Living In Fullness Everyday,” presently airing throughout the United States, the Armed Forces, Nigeria, Multicultural Africa countries and adjacent islands.  He is one of today’s greatest gospel preachers with a ministry, which crosses all denominational lines.

Lady LaVette D. Gibson

Evangelist LaVette D. Gibson was raised in a Christian home and with the strong influence of an extended Christian family. She is the great-granddaughter of two great spiritual leaders: the late Rev. Thomas Jones, Pastor and Founder of Peoples’ United Community Church; and the late, beloved Mother L.O. Hale, the former State Supervisor, Southern California Jurisdiction One. At the age of sixteen years old, LaVette accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord at the State Youth Department’s Christmas Revival. In 1974, just before departing for her freshman year at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, LaVette received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This experience equipped her for the challenges that were ahead.

At Spelman, LaVette majored in Political Science with an emphasis in pre-law. Her career goal was to become a criminal lawyer. It was towards the end of her sophomore year that she received her calling into the ministry with these words from the Lord: “Your vocation and ministry shall be one.” In obedience to this call, LaVette left Spelman at the end of her sophomore year, and enrolled in Southern California College in Costa Mesa. Southern California College (which now is Vanguard University) is a Liberal Arts Christian College sponsored by the Assembly of God denomination. There, LaVette majored in Religion/Biblical studies and graduated with a B.A. Degree in 1980.

Evangelist LaVette D. Gibson’s professional career has consisted of the following:  

• Elementary School Teacher, Drama Director and the interim Assistant Principal 1980 – 1986 during her tenure at St. John Lutheran School in Long Beach, California
• Eligibility Worker II for the Department of Social Services in San Bernardino County 1987 – 1991
• Chief Administrator for Life C.O.G.I.C. Business & Administrative Office 1991 to present
• Principal of the Life C.O.G.I.C. Life Christian Academy Elementary School 2005 to present

It was on December 26, 1981 that the then LaVette D. Beamon was united in holy matrimony with Minister Ronnie M. Gibson at the Christian Life Church in Long Beach, California. From the beginning of their union, the couple worked as a dynamic team in Christian ministry conducting numerous revivals throughout Southern California. In 1983, the Gibson’s were led of the Lord to move to the city of Riverside, California. They thought the move was simply for real estate, but God soon revealed to them His purpose.

In May 1987, Sister LaVette Gibson assisted her husband in the establishment of Life Church Of God In Christ located in Riverside, California. The Lord has tremendously blessed this work – even beyond their greatest expectations! At Life Church, Sister LaVette serves as the Chief Administrator, Instructor of the New Members’ Class, President of the Missionary Unit, and President of the Women’s Department. The Women of Life. In May 2002, with the Women of Life, she will birth the Life Builders’ Conference- a gathering ordained of God for the edification of the Body of Christ.

In 1986, LaVette received her Evangelist Missionary License under the late Mother Lillian A. Morris. In addition to laboring by the side of Pastor Ron Gibson, Sister LaVette ministers the Word of the Lord with clarity, power and demonstration. She ministers particularly at Women’s Retreats, Services, and Seminars, being used mightily of the Lord in the area of healing to the wounded soul. Also, she serves in the State Women’s Department under the unparalleled leadership of Dr. Barbara McCoo Lewis in the following ministries: State Examination Board, State Women’s Convention Program Chairperson, State Executive Board, President of New Dimensions, and Co-Chairperson of the Pastors’ Wives Symposium of the Leadership Conference. In January 2001, Mother Lewis appointed Sister Gibson as Marshal of the Jurisdictional Women’s Department.

When God first called Evangelist LaVette Gibson she had no idea where and how He would use her. Now, she says with understanding and conviction, “Where He leads me, I will follow.”
